Last spring I left a treasured Gallery coat on a train and never retrieved it. After hours of searching all the usual suspects (Lands’ End, Eddie Bauer, LL Bean), I stumbled across this coat on Amazon. It checked all the boxes, including being available in my favorite color, and I haven’t been disappointed.Pros:— Fits very well, neither too roomy nor too snug, even with the quilted liner zipped in.— The hood is not detachable, which I prefer.— The pockets are deep enough without being caverns I cannot reach the bottom of.— The liner zips in on the sides and attaches to the neck and sleeves of the coat with snaps on fabric loops.— The finishing is great - no loose threads or wonky seams.— I bought the coat to wear the shell as a lightweight jacket and as a warmer coat with the liner zipped in. What’s surprising is that I’ve worn the quilted liner more than the other two ways of wearing it. It’s soft, lightweight, and warm, with its own set of pockets.— The pockets do *not* have zippers, which I loathe!Cons:— The fabric of the shell is not the best quality and is quite loud and “rustle-y”. I prefer my clothing to be seen and not heard.— There is no hanging loop when wearing the shell and liner together.Overall, I’d recommend this coat if you’re looking for an inexpensive in-between seasons jacket.
